The first annual Downtown Showdown Car Show was a huge success and a whole lot of fun!
Around 600 where in attendance throughout the day to view more than 25 cars in the contest and enjoy the live band.
It was a lot of work but it was worth it and everyone had a great time.
We are already planning next years event.
I have been in business since 1999, started in Santa Fe at the Premium Outlet Mall. Commuted to Santa Fe each day for 4 years 7 days a week. Then came back home and opened it here in Albuquerque. As the oldest of, 12 I had to cook at a young age, which was ok at times. I worked in many restaurant’s before I opened my own. I had my daughters work with me at the beginning till 2 of them went off on there own, ones in New York running a restaurant there and other in Texas working the oil field, Claudette my youngest still with me now her daughter’s Angel and Ivana are working here, keeping it in the family. The Café is 113 years old a setting back in the old days with a wood burning stove that is used in the winter to keep dinning area warm and cosy like Grandmas house. The ambiance is old and rustic. many that have visited the café on 6th and Silver have said it’s like there old house back in the day, It reminds me of the house I grew up in and my great Grandma’s house .
My way of cooking is the way my grandmothers cooked, simple but full of flavour, no scratches or flour of any kind in the chillies or beans. Gluten Free. Been seen on Food Network, Travel Channel, HDNET, and Discovery Channel. Been written up on Albuquerque Mag., Chicago Turbine, Albuquerque Turbine and many other Magazine’s.
So stop on by and check us out.
